Yukon PNP Program - Critical Impact Worker
Introduction
The Gwich’in term Yu-kun-ah, which means “great river” and refers to the Yukon River, is where the name Yukon originates. The Yukon, which is surrounded by natural mountains in Canada’s northwest, borders Alaska to the west, British Columbia to the south, and the Northwest Territories to the east. It is unbreakably linked to the historic Klondike Gold Rush.
The Yukon Territory was established in 1898 through a federal law that separated it from the Northwest Territories. The Yukon PNP Program, or Nominee Program, works similarly to the Northwest Territory program and has 3 main categories. These 3 main categories under this PNP program are as:
1) Critical Impact worker
2) Skilled Worker
3)Express Entry
Your eligibility for the stream under this PNP is determined by your job offer. Example occupations in TEER 4 or 5 fall under the Critical Impact Worker Stream, and occupations under TEER 0,1,2,3 belong to the Skilled Worker Stream and the Express Entry stream. I will try to explain this PNP program in more detail in this post, which I will cover only the Critical Impact Stream and will try to remove the confusion for those who want to immigrate using this Yukon PNP program.
