1. Skilled worker stream

The Skilled Worker stream helps businesses in Nova Scotia hire foreign employees and newly graduated international students with sought-after skills. Employers are permitted to employ foreign workers only for roles that cannot be filled by local candidates.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply, you need to

Get a full-time, permanent job offer from a company in Nova Scotia.
have a year’s worth of work-related experience. Employees in TEER 4 or 5 of the National Occupational Classification are required to have worked for their employer for a minimum of six months.
Age between 21 and 55 years old.
Requirements for this position include a high school diploma, relevant training, abilities, and accreditation.
Required training, skills, or certification for the job.
Language Proficiency:
CLB 5 for TEER 0–3 occupations
CLB 4 for TEER 4-5 occupations (exam is required if their first language is English or French).
Proof of adequate financial resources to settle in Nova Scotia.

2. Occupations in Demand Stream

The jobs in Demand stream focus on specific TEER category 3, 4, or 5 jobs in the National Occupational Classification that are in high labor market demand in Nova Scotia.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply, you need to

- Have a full time permanent work offer from a Nova Scotia employer in any of these :
  NOC 33102: Nurse Aides.
  NOC 65310: Light duty cleaners.
  NOC 73300: Transport Truck drivers.
  NOC 73400: Heavy equipment operators. and NOC 75110: Constructions trade assistance & laborers.

At least one year of relevant job experience.
Age between 21 and 55.
High school diploma
Required training or certification.
CLB 4 in English or French (test scores required)
Proof of Settlement Funds.

3. Critical construction worker pilot

This Pathway is only available for individuals who have received a permanent, full-time employment offer from a Nova Scotia business in the construction sector. This stream helps firms in Nova Scotia’s construction industry (NAICS 23) attract skilled personnel.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply, you need to

Have a Full-time, permanent position available in one of the following NOCs: (Like: electricians, heavy-duty mechanics, carpenters, welders, crane operators, roofers, Heating, air cooling, and refrigeration mechanics, construction managers, etc.)

At least one year of experience in the relevant position.
High school diploma or completed construction-specific training.
Age between 21 and 55.
Language proficiency levels: CLB 5 for TEER 0-3 and CLB 4 for TEER 4-5.
Proof of Settlement Funds.

4. International graduates in demand

The International Graduates in Demand stream is for recent international graduates whose abilities and education align with specified NOC employment categories.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply, you need to

Get a full-time employment offer in one of these NOC codes from a Nova Scotian company:
32102: Careers in Paramedics.
32124: Pharmacy Technicians.
33102: Orderlies, nurse assistants, and patient service representatives.
42202: Early Childhood Teachers and Assistants.

Age between 19 and 55.
High school diploma.
Completed a relevant program at an acceptable Nova Scotia Postsecondary Institution:
Minimum:30 weeks (or 24 weeks for NOC-33102).
At least 50% of studies in Nova Scotia.

NOC requires the following credentials:

NOC 32102 or 32124 – Diploma.

NOC 33102: certificate, diploma, or degree.

NOC 42202 – Diploma or Degree.

Valid certification from the Nova Scotia regulatory organizations (where applicable).
CLB 5 (English or French).
Proof of Settlement Funds.

5. International graduates Entrepreneur

The International Graduate Entrepreneur stream is meant for recent Nova Scotian college or university graduates who launched and ran their own company for a year.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply, you need to

Be in Nova Scotia and actively manage a business there.
with at least one year of continuous experience actively managing and running your present Nova Scotia firm (33.33% ownership required)
Completed a degree or diploma after a minimum of two years of full-time, in-person study at the Nova Scotia Community College or an institution in Nova Scotia.
A valid post-graduation work visa.
Minimum score of 7 on the CLB
Submit an online expression of interest
Receive an invitation to apply.

6. Entrepreneur

Senior managers or seasoned business owners are the target audience for this stream. After operating the business for a year, the entrepreneur may be eligible for permanent resident status. Applications for the stream are only accepted from those who have been invited.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply, you need to

Be 21 years old or older.
Intend to actively manage the firm while residing in Nova Scotia.
At least $600,000 CAD in net worth ($400,000 CAD if not in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM)).
At least $150,000 CAD in investment ($100,000 CAD if outside HRM).
Have Experience of 5+ years in a senior company management position or 3 years as a business owner (at least 33.3% ownership).
CLB 5 in either French or English.
Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
Receive an invitation to apply.

7. Physician

The Physician Stream helps the Izaak Walton Killam Health Centre (IWK) and the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA), the province’s public health agencies, hire general practitioners, family doctors, and specialists. The stream assists the NSHA and IWK in finding and keeping doctors with the necessary qualifications for jobs that they haven’t been able to fill with Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply, you need to

Have a job offer from IWK Health Center or the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) in one of the following NOCs:

31102 Family doctors and general practitioners

31100: Clinical and Laboratory Medicine Experts

31101: Surgical Specialists

The offer needs to be made on official NSHA/IWK letterhead.
It will be signed by the doctor and the employer and verify your eligibility for hospital privileges and a license.

If you are already licensed and accredited, there is no need for a language test.
Working directly with NSHA or IWK does not require settlement funds.

8. Labour market priorities for physicians

Express Entry applicants with an accepted offer from NSHA or IWK are the focus of Labour Market Priorities for Physicians.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply, you need to

Have a proper job Letter from NSHA or IWK in NOC 31100, 31101, or 31102.
Signed Return for Service Agreement (Nova Scotia commitment for two years).
Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) Letter of Interest.
After obtaining the Letter of Interest, submit your application within 30 days.
Fulfill the requirements for the federal Express Entry stream.
Have Legal status in the country of residence.
Evidence of settlement money.

9. Labour market priorities.

Individuals who meet the labor market criteria of the province are selected for nomination via the Labour Market Priorities stream of the federal Express Entry system. Only those who have obtained a Letter of Interest from the Nova Scotia Department of Labor, Skills, and Immigration are eligible to submit applications.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply, you need to

Have a Letter of Interest from Nova Scotia PNP within the Express Entry system.
After receiving the letter of interest, submit the complete application within 30 calendar days.
Fulfill the language and work experience requirements for Express Entry.
Evidence of settlement money.
Have legal status in the country of residence.
Must fulfill any additional requirements listed in the Letter of Interest.

10. Experience: Express Entry.

Experience: The Express Entry program looks for candidates who have a minimum of one year of experience in Nova Scotia.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply,

Applicants need to have held a job in Nova Scotia for at least one year in a role categorized under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification.
Candidates should be aged between 21 and 55.
It is necessary to have a Canadian high school diploma or an equivalent credential.
For skilled professions under NOC TEER 0–1, a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 7 is required.
A CLB of 5 is necessary for skilled positions under NOC TEER 2-3.
It is necessary to have an active profile in the federal Express Entry system.
